Course Content
Learning scuba diving isn’t difficult, but like any activity worth doing, it requires some time and effort. You will learn Theory, Underwater skills and Open Water Diving:
Theory
The PADI Open Water Diver Manual and Video explain the basic principles and procedures of scuba diving. You will learn things like how pressure affects your body, how to choose the best equipment and what to consider when planning dives. You’ll also see underwater skills demonstrated and explained.
You review what you studied with your instructor and take short quizzes to be sure you’re getting it. At the end of the course, you take an exam that makes sure you understand all the key concepts of scuba diving.
You can do all of the theory in Dahab, or you can get started in advance with PADI’s excellent digital learning materials. Once your deposit is received, we can email download codes for a digital pdf manual or for the optional eLearning/Touch version of the manual with integrated video – either way, you’ll get the ‘homework’ out of the way before your holiday!
Confined Water skills
This is where scuba diving in Dahab has a big advantage. Instead of spending time in a swimming pool, we are lucky in Dahab to have calm shallow pool-like conditions on our doorstep in the lovely Red Sea. You’ll learn everything from setting up your gear, to how to easily get water out of your mask without surfacing – and you’ll enjoy the Red Sea fish life right from your first step in the water. You’ll also practice emergency skills like sharing air.
There are five confined water dives. Over the course of these five dives, you attain the skills you need for scuba diving in open water.
Open Water Dives
Now we move to the Open Water diving at Lighthouse reef. This is where you have fun putting it all together and fully experience the underwater adventure. There are 4 Open Water dives, by the end of which you will feel comfortable, safe and in control of your scuba diving. This is the most fun part of the course because you get to have fun enjoying beautiful diving in the Red Sea.
